Le projet de réhabilitation de l’ancien jardin du « gar-dien du barrage d’eau »

Au pied de la Poortoren, il y avait auparavant une petite maison de gardien (aujourd’hui arasée). Ce gardien possédait un petit potager privatif avec quelques arbres fruitiers. Le pro-jet de réhabilitation prend inspiration de cette époque révolue pour offrir un espace public jardiné avec une collection d’arbres fruitiers à proximité de l’eau de la douve.

L’allée en stabilisé sablé est bordée de brique et longe la douve. Si l’on préfère déambuler entre les plates bandes situées plus près du mur, on marchera directement sur l’herbe ton-due.

Project to rehabilitate the former Dam Keeper’s garden

A small house to accommodate the dam keeper used to stand at the foot of the Poertoren (it has since been demolished). The keeper kept a small vegetable patch with a few fruit trees. The rehabilitation project is taking its inspiration from this bygone era to create a planted public area with a collection of fruit trees on the bank of the moat.

The stabilised sand pathway is bordered in brick and runs alongside the moat. Those wishing to walk between the flower beds, situated closer to the wall, can walk directly on the mown grass.

Project voor de herbestemming van de oude tuin van de Stuwwachter

Aan de voet van de Poertoren stond vroeger een klein woonhuis (nu gesloopt), met een kleine private. Binnen het project wil men de tuin een oorspronkelijk karakter geven. De herinrichting verwijst naar het vroegere gebruik van de site als moestuin. Het dolomietpad leidt langs enkel verhoogde plantenbedden, fruitbomen en een bloemenweide. Het eindigt op een rustplek aan de Poertoeren.
