| The objective set by the Gravelines town council is to restore its fortifications and enhance their accessibility. It has developed a balanced and consistent policy, involving the development of green areas, wildlife corridors and greenbelt sites in the fortified town. In a heritage context, regenerating and promoting elements of the fortifications involves cultural mediation. This has therefore been reinforced through the creation of an interpretation centre, thanks to actions carried out within the framework of the Septentrion Interreg project. Gravelines is now in a position to share its experience and gain considerably from the cross-border tools and actions outlined in the project. |
